JAKARTA – The Indonesian National Police (Polri) has officially named former legislative candidate Edy Mulyadi as a suspect in the alleged insult to the New State Capital (IKN). This was conveyed by Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier Jenderal Ahmad Ramadhan.
“Investigators conducted a case title and investigators determined the EM status of the witness to be a suspect,” said Ahmad at the National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Monday (31/1/2022).
According to Ahmad, the determination of the suspect was based on a number of evidences and the examination of 55 witnesses. These include linguistic experts, criminal experts, IT experts, social media analysis experts, anthropologists, and legal experts.
“The inspection took place from morning until 16.15 WIB,” said Ahmad.
Previously, Edy Mulyadi apologized to a number of parties who were offended by his remarks regarding the transfer of the new State Capital (IKN). This was conveyed before undergoing an examination at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters, Monday (31/1/2022).
“I again apologize profusely, profusely. Once again sorry to the sultans. Sultan Kutai, Sultan Paser, Sultan Banjar, Sultan Pontianak, Sultan Malay or so on. Including the tribes, the Paser Tribe, the Kutai Tribe of all kinds. Including the Dayak tribe, I apologize for everything,” said Edy in Jakarta.
Edy’s view is that the traditional and tribal leaders in Kalimantan are not enemies. According to him, the nation’s enemies are the oligarchs.
Edi said that what was conveyed was a form to reject IKN which was considered not on time. According to him, it is better to use the IKN development budget for the welfare of the people and national economic development.
