Jakarta – The National Police will hold candle operations during the Christmas and New Year holidays to anticipate the spike in the spread of COVID-19. It is known that the Candle Operation will be held from December 20, 2021, to January 2, 2022.
The National Police will establish a number of Level 3 PPKM Command Posts along a number of border lines between regions and at every toll gate. Later, every driver is required to show an Entry Letter (SKM) issued by the head of the RT.
“All in order to anticipate the spike in COVID-19, especially the new variant. In the Candle Operation, the National Police Chief will emphasize and will maximize and optimize the PPKM Command Post, “said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo to reporters on Friday (11/26/2021).
Then the police will also be at all toll gates and certain access points at the border between regions. There is a post as a check point, so it will also be checked there whether the traveling people have SKM, “he added.
Drivers who cannot show their SKM will be asked to do a free COVID-19 antigen and PCR rapid test at the PPKM Command Post. If found positive after the PCR test, the driver will be immediately evacuated.
For example, an antigen swab will not be carried out yet. If, for example, he is positive later, PCR will follow up. If it is positive, it will be evacuated to another place. If, for example, there is an SKM, then please continue the journey, “said Dedi.
