The West Kalimantan Police Chief inspects the condition of the Sintang District Flood Evacuation Command Post

West Kalimantan Police Chief, Inspector General, Pol. R. Sigid Tri Hardjianto, personally watched the floods that have ravaged Sintang Regency for the past three weeks on Sunday (20/11/21).

Before visiting numerous areas that were still flooded, the West Kalimantan Police Chief took a minute to patrol around Sintang City to view firsthand the damage that had been done after the city had been drowned by floods for the previous three weeks.

The North Sulawesi Police Chief moved again after observing the conditions in the city, this time with his entourage visiting Muhammadiyah Elementary School, which serves as a temporary health clinic for people.

Not only that, but the West Kalimantan Police Chief also provided direct social help to flood-affected areas upon his arrival.

“We commiserate with the flood calamity that has struck Sintang Regency in recent weeks, given the magnitude of the devastation,” he said.

Affirming to the ranks that they should continue to monitor the situation and take swift action to help the community, whether during flood periods like today or after the flood,

Meanwhile, in the same site, Sintang Police Chief AKBP Ventie Bernard Musak dispatched combined personnel from the Sintang Police, Samapta Polda, and the West Kalimantan Police Mobile Brigade to carry out community service activities where the flood had subsided.

This action is being conducted out as part of a police effort, particularly the Sintang Police, to assist locals in the aftermath of the Sintang Regency floods, as well as a concern for keeping the environment and places of worship clean.

One of the effects of the floods that have swamped numerous sub-districts in Sintang Regency is mud and garbage that has piled up in people’s homes and places of worship. Some places have receded, and we are mobilizing workers to assist in the cleanup.”
