Polri Helps Immediately Distribute Social Aid to Residents

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia — National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo asked the regional police to help accelerate the distribution of social aid (bansos) during the current Covid-19 pandemic.

He said the government had provided various social aid during the Emergency PPKM period to target people in need. So, he asked that the distribution process can take place quickly.

“We are accelerating the distribution of social aid throughout Indonesia or 34 provinces. Both areas that implement Emergency PPKM or Micro PPKM,” said Sigit in a written statement, Wednesday (21/7).

He asked the TNI-Polri ranks to map out the distribution of the social aid properly. Sigit stated that he did not want to receive reports that the distribution of social aid was hampered.

In this case, he said, coordination has been carried out for all ranks of Bhabinkamtibmas and Babinsa if the social aid stock runs out. People are asked to be calm and not to worry.

“The community remains calm and don’t worry, if the aid provided runs out, report it immediately. Later, the ranks of the TNI and Polri or the Ministry of Social Affairs will provide more social aid,” he said.

In the period from 3 to 19 July 2021, Sigit noted that his party had distributed 475,420 packages and 2,471,217 kilograms of rice to people in need and affected by the pandemic.

Then, throughout 2020, social aid distributed by the National Police was 394,347 food packages, 30,000 tons of rice, 790,436 medical equipment/PPE, and established 13,119 public kitchens.

Meanwhile, as of July 2, 2021, the social aid provided by the National Police was 750,780 food packages, 3,753 tons of rice, 763,079 medical equipment/PPE, and the establishment of 143,467 public kitchens.

The government disbursed a number of social aid packages during Emergency PPKM. Some of them are in the form of Cash Social Aid, Non-Cash Food Aid, or PPKM basic food cards and the Hope Family Program.

The Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, said that 18.8 million families receiving BPNT or basic food cards in Indonesia will receive Rp. 200,000 per month.

Then BST will be distributed to 10 million beneficiary families. The amount of this BST is IDR 300 thousand for each beneficiary family. He made sure everything had been disbursed since the beginning of July.

In addition, there is an ongoing PKH program. The recipients are now 10 million families, which if broken down per individual reaches 33 million people.
