Mentok, Babel (ANTARA) – The West Bangka Resort Police (Polres), the Bangka Belitung Islands Regional Police, are continuing their justification operations as an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during the Lebaran holiday.

“We hope that the operation by directly meeting the community can help joint efforts to suppress the potential for transmission of the virus and West Bangka to return to the green zone,” said West Bangka Police Chief AKBP Fedriansah, in Mentok, Saturday.

He explained that the Justisi operation was not only carried out during the day, but also at night by targeting a number of community gathering locations, such as parks, coffee shops, cafes and several other places.

“In these activities, we always provide education to residents so that they adhere to health protocols, at least wear masks and guard them while on the move outside the home,” he said.

This was done because until now the number of cases of residents exposed to COVID-19 in West Bangka continues to increase, and there are even some villages that have had to implement a policy of Enforcement of the Restriction of Community Activities (PPKM) on a micro scale.

“We will continue to carry out these preventive operations, because until now the pandemic has not ended,” he said.

Apart from holding the justisi operation, he said, the presence of the police in the community during the Idul Fitri 1442 Hijriah holiday is also expected to provide a sense of security and comfort.

The Sabhara Unit pesonels led by the Head of the AKP Unit, Agus Mulyadi, routinely toured the entire jurisdiction of the West Bangka Police to minimize and anticipate the possibility of criminal activity.

They also appealed to the public to be proactive in maintaining security, order and comfort in their respective environments.

“When outside the house, increase awareness of luggage, such as vehicles, wallets, cell phones, valuables to avoid crime,” said Agus Mulyadi.

According to him, during the Lebaran holiday in the jurisdiction of the West Bangka Police, it was conducive, comfortable, orderly and safe under control.
