Indonesian Police: Japanese Fugitive Yusuke Yamazaki Still Detected in Indonesia

Indonesian Police – The Indonesian National Police (Polri) announced that they are continuing their efforts to apprehend Japanese fugitive Yusuke Yamazaki (42), who is wanted by the Japanese police. Polri confirmed that they have been tracking Yamazaki’s movements and have located him in Indonesia.

“Interpol’s search for Yamazaki Yusuke, a Japanese citizen who fled to Indonesia, is still ongoing. We would like to inform that his whereabouts have been detected in Indonesia,” said Polri Head of Public Information Division Brig. Gen. Ahmad Ramadhan in a press conference at the National Police Headquarters on Monday (13/3/2023).

Ramadhan stated that they are still trying to pinpoint Yusuke’s exact location and expressed hope that he will be apprehended soon.

“Hopefully he will be caught in the near future. We ask for your prayers so that Interpol’s subject can be found and handed over to the Japanese police as soon as possible,” he added.

“Let’s pray that he can be caught directly. What is clear is that his tracks have been detected by us,” he said.

Previously, Ramadhan explained that the search for Yusuke’s whereabouts was conducted based on a request for assistance from the Japanese police. Ramadhan believed that Yusuke’s movement was limited and that it would be difficult for him to evade the police’s pursuit.

“It is estimated that he is in Indonesia and it is unlikely that he can escape,” he told reporters on Monday (6/3).

Yusuke Yamazaki is the president of Nishiyama Farm, a farm management company in Akaiwa City, Okayama Prefecture, Japan. He is suspected of committing fraud in Japan by claiming to buy products and promising high dividends if investing in fruit sales businesses overseas.
