Indonesian Police – Denpasar – A French national named Duffau EM (30) was apprehended by officers from the Ngurah Rai Airport Police and Angkasa Pura Avsec personnel after causing a disturbance and going berserk at the international departure terminal of the Ngurah Rai Airport on Tuesday (7/3).
The female tourist, who possessed a passport with the number 22CK3xxxx, initially arrived at the Ngurah Rai Airport on Monday (6/3) at 9:30 PM. She intended to check in at the international departure terminal for a KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flight with the flight code KL 836, heading to Singapore. However, she cancelled her plan to check in, believing that the flight was not safe.
“Since she did not board the flight, the airline directed her to Immigration to cancel her departure,” said the Head of Operations at the Ngurah Rai Airport Police, Commissioner Agung Arjana Putra.
On Tuesday (7/3) at around 8:00 AM, the French national was seen purchasing a ticket for an Air Asia QZ-506 flight to Singapore, departing at 2:35 PM.

“Before departure, she went through the same security checks as other passengers, from security checks to immigration counters, until she reached the gate. She was in normal condition,” explained Commissioner Agung Arya.
The tourist began to behave erratically when she was at the International Espresso Bar at around 11:00 AM. She became disruptive and went berserk, prompting the Airport Police to deploy their personnel along with Avsec officers to handle the situation.
“When she was being apprehended, she tried to escape, but we managed to capture her again,” he said.
After being calmed down, she was immediately taken to the Prof Dr IGN Ngoerah Hospital in Denpasar for further treatment. It is suspected that she suffered from depression and needed medical care.
