Indonesian Police – Banten – The Corruption Eradication Task Force for the National Police (Satgasus Tipikor Polri) led by Novel Baswedan carried out the destruction of concrete reinforcing steel (BjTB) products.
A total of 419,537 sticks weighing 2,302 tons or a value of Rp. 32.23 billion with the Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan in Tangerang Regency, Banten, Thursday (12/1).
Products destroyed are products that violate regulations because they do not meet the quality requirements of the Indonesian National Standard (SNI).
“The extermination is expected to create a deterrent effect for other business actors who produce BjTB that do not comply with the provisions. This is proof that the Ministry of Trade continues to protect domestic industries and Indonesian consumers,” said Zulhas in his statement, Thursday (12/1).
Previously, the Ministry of Trade together with the Ministry of Industry, the Special Task Force (Satgasus) for Corruption Prevention of the Indonesian National Police, and the Industry and Trade Office of Banten Province carried out monitoring activities for BjTB products with certain brands.

“We have carried out tests in an accredited laboratory. As a result, these products were declared not to meet the SNI requirements, namely SNI 2052:2017,” said the PAN Politician.
After being proven not to comply with SNI, the product is immediately secured as an initial preventive measure to minimize consumer losses in the aspects of safety, security, consumer health and the environment (K3L).
“Temporary security measures are implemented based on Article 40 of the Minister of Trade Regulation Number 69 of 2018 concerning Supervision of Circulating Goods and Services for further destruction,” he explained.
Supervision was carried out in response to information that there were BjTB products in circulation and traded at low prices, but did not meet the technically required standards.
The destruction of BjTB products was witnessed by representatives of the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Investment/BKPM, the Attorney General’s Office of Jamintel and Jampidsus, the Corruption Crime Prevention Task Force for the National Police, and the Industry and Trade Office of Banten Province.
