Police Strategy to Secure G20 Summit

IndonatPolice – Bali – The Indonesian National Police (Polri) held the Puri Agung 2022 operation to secure the G20 Summit in Bali.

Through the command center which was created in the Nusa Dua area of Bali, the National Police also monitored all security for the G20 Summit.

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said, in this command center, there are 16 connected features. Starting from securing lanes, cyber attacks, securing demonstrations and terror to natural disaster contingencies.

“Regarding the earthquake warning. So if there is an earthquake there will be alerts or warnings so that our personnel follow because we have prepared a contingency plan in the event of a disaster,” said the National Police Chief.

Apart from that, in this command center you can also find out the wind speed. This is important if there are delegates and VVIP guests crossing the toll road.

Furthermore, there are cameras connected to CCTV that are connected in all corners, both at the airport and at the ports, both in Banyuwangi, East Java and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

“This camera is equipped with face recognition which we link with data from Dukcapil and Immigration. So every member of the public or guests who go down through the CCTV or cameras that we have installed data will appear,” he said.

Furthermore, the former National Police Criminal Investigation Agency said that his party had prepared a database related to people who were on the police list, both in criminal and terror cases that could disrupt the G20 Summit.

“If it’s all recorded on our camera there will be a notification and from there we have prepared members to take further security steps,” he said.

Then, there is also a monitor that monitors the members on guard. Starting from traffic members, sabhara, Brimob and others. This is important so that if there are problems in security, they can be monitored and know the next steps.

“As an example, our personnel at one of these points can be seen and we will contact them later. We can control all the activities of our personnel, then we can move through orders that will be carried out by officers on duty here 24 hours monitoring all movements, including events on the ground, so they can take steps,” he said.

The former Banten Police Chief said that holding the G20 Summit was a gamble for Indonesia, especially the people of Bali. If all security for the G20 Summit goes smoothly, then in the future Indonesia will be able to carry out international events well as well.

For this reason, at the G20 Summit this time, the government continues to provide comfort for both local and international tourists who are present in Bali, in the midst of holding the G20 Summit.

He said the tourists continued to come but the delegation’s activities continued. If later the delegation comes and passes, we will arrange the tourist route through another route. So on the one hand the activities of the series are running well, on the other hand the activities of tourists, especially foreign tourists, can run.

“We have to take care of those two things. Precisely this is where the test for us whether we can do it or not. On the one hand there is a big event at the G20 Summit which is a gamble for the Indonesian nation, but on the other hand this can create a multi player effect which will certainly elevate Indonesia or Bali to become a city known to the world as a very friendly place and of course a popular tourist destination for the international community. he said.
