Yogyakarta – National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo reviewed the implementation of the acceleration of simultaneous vaccination in 5,214 points in 34 provinces of Indonesia. On this occasion, Sigit directly attended the event at Sleman City Hall, Sleman Regency, DIY.
On that occasion, Sigit emphasized that, ahead of the month of Ramadan, all regions in Indonesia must strengthen the acceleration of the third dose of vaccination or Booster. According to him, this is the key to preventing the increase in the rate of growth of Covid-19.
“Soon we will enter the month of Ramadan. We have to make sure that people really have carried out the vaccination properly. We hope that in the period of time there is a third dose can really be optimized. Because this is the key too,” said Sigit when reviewing the vaccination in Sleman City Hall, Sleman Regency, DIY, Friday (11/3/2022).
By optimizing the acceleration of vaccination, both doses I, II to III, said the former Police Chief of Criminal Investigation Unit, it will further increase the immunity or immunity of the community against all types of existing Covid-19 variants.
In order to achieve and exceed the existing targets, Sigit emphasized, synergy and cooperation from all parties is needed. That way, community activities can run safely and the wheels of the economy will also continue to improve.
“And this requires the cooperation of all of us to be able to achieve this by optimizing or accelerating the completion of vaccinations from the community. So that immunity or immunity reaches the number we expect,” said the former Banten Police Chief.
The guarantee of complete vaccination for the community, according to Sigit, is also part of the preparation of the Government’s strategy to turn the Covid-19 Pandemic into an Endemic.
To achieve this, Sigit emphasized, there are several conditions that must be met. Among them are the progress of vaccination, the death rate and control of Covid-19 cases.
“In the near future there will be an evaluation related to the plan for us to prepare ourselves to shift from a pandemic to an endemic. However, there are conditions that we are pursuing. Which of course we have to be ready for it. One of them is controlling the mortality rate, vaccination rate and of course the statistics that we must maintain regarding the development of Omicron or Delta variants,” said Sigit.
If all elements join hands to pursue this target, Sigit is optimistic and believes that the strategy to turn a Pandemic into an Endemic will soon be implemented.
“Surely we can have optimism. Then second, of course, with strong health protocols, which we always remind to wear masks, use disinfectants, make it a habit and make it a discipline in daily activities, “said Sigit.
On the other hand, Sigit appreciated the Forkopimda of the Special Region of Yogyakarta for working hard to accelerate vaccination. From the data he received, Sigit said that the dose I in DIY was above 100 percent. Meanwhile, the second dose reached 97 percent more. Currently, DIY is pursuing the target for Booster vaccination.
“I appreciate it. We hope that Yogyakarta is indeed one of the areas for tourist visits, homecoming visits and there is also an international event, the Presidency which will be held here. So we want to make sure that the whole series can run well, that the public is all awake regarding the development of the new variant of Omicron. Because on average all of them have carried out the complete vaccine. Of course it will affect and have an impact on the conditions of economic growth in the Yogyakarta area, “said Sigit.
In addition to reviewing vaccinations, Sigit also gave directions to all regions to continue to accelerate vaccination and optimize the handling and control of the Covid-19 pandemic, virtually.
