Police Will Complete BPJS Regulations So Requirements for Managing Motor Vehicle Certificates

Jakarta – The National Police of the Republic of Indonesia (Polri) will complete the regulation to make BPJS Health a requirement for managing motorized vehicles. The regulation is contained in Perpol Number 7 of 2021 concerning Resident Ranmor.

Spokesperson for the Divhumas Polri Kombes Pol Hendra Rochmawan said the improvement was following the issuance of Presidential Instruction Number 1 of 2022 concerning Optimizing the National Health Insurance (JKN).

“The optimization is aimed at 30 Institutional Ministries, including the National Police in them,” said Hendra at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Tuesday (22/2/2022).

“The instructions given are to make improvements to SIM regulations, STNK regulations, regulations to ensure SIM and STNK applicants, Police Record Certificates (SKCK) are active participants in the JKN program,” he continued.

Hendra ensured that his party would work hard to perfect the new government regulations with regulations in the police. He hopes that the public can adjust to this new rule.

“We all have to understand and support the government’s policy line. We have to look at the point of view from the government’s point of view, Indonesian citizens must be active participants of BPJS,” said Hendra.

Furthermore, Hendra explained, the refinement of this policy will take time. The reason is that the Police need to take steps to coordinate and socialize.

“Obviously the Police must coordinate with the relevant agencies. Second, it takes time to socialize to the community,” he said.

For information, President Joko Widodo or Jokowi wants to pursue the target of 98 percent of Indonesian citizens getting universal health insurance by 2024 through Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 1 of 2022.
