Yogyakarta – Special Detachment (Densus) Counter-Terrorism 88 search one of Jimbaran Padukuhan residents, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Monday (14/2/22).
The resident, a man who is an elementary school teacher, was arrested by Densus 88 in Tambakromo. After his arrest, the authorities immediately search his house and attract the attention of the community and family.
Harto, one of the residents, initially did not know a cop was coming, although he saw there is a lot of people, which he did not know any of them, in the mosque prior to the search. When he asked them, they said they were just research students.
“But then, there is a search in the house, I joined as a witness,” said Harto.
The search occurred for about one hour. The authorities confiscated the laptop and books from the house.
“Looks like they have asked RY first before doing the search, that is why it was fast,” said one of the residents.
According to him, he still saw RY go to the school to teach on that morning.
RY did not stand out, he is just like any other person. One of the residents said he is not acting strangely, even quite active. He often teaches the Koran in this village which is directly adjacent to Wonogiri Regency, Central Java.
“I was surprised when there is a lot of police coming to apprehend RY. There is nothing wrong with what he taught to the people here, but outside, I don’t know,” explained one resident.
Meanwhile, The Gunungkidul Police Chief, AKBP Aditya Galayudha Ferdiansyah, has not yet responded to questions regarding the search.
