Polri Deployed Three Ships to Safeguard MotoGP 2022

Mataram – The National Police is currently deploying its force in the waters to support the security of the MotoGP 2022 racing event at the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, NTB.

A total of three large ships sent from the National Police Headquarters were deployed to the waters of Lombok Island, NTB. The three security support facilities for the world-class racing event are on standby, along with the AW-169 helicopter unit that routinely conducts air patrols, especially around the Mandalika Circuit area.

“The three large ships from the National Police Headquarters, under the Polairud Corps, arrived in Lombok to help secure our water section for the success of MotoGP,” explained the Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Commissioner Artanto in Mataram, Friday (11/2/22).

The Head of Public Relations explained that in securing the MotoGP event, which is now in the pre-season test stage, his team has already coordinated with other security authorities, be it with the Indonesian Navy, Air Force, ASDP, KSOP, Basarnas, and also Angkasa Pura.

As a part of the preparing security coordination, the National Police, together with other security authorities, often hold limited meetings to carry out security simulations in water areas.

Therefore, the Head of Public Relations ensures that issues related to security or things that can interfere with the MotoGP event at the Mandalika Circuit have been included in the security anticipation list.

“Active monitoring and escort, in essence, has been supported by a fairly large number of personnel, not to mention the addition of other security support facilities. We think it is part of a joint effort to make the event a success,” he concluded.
