Palembang – The vaccination of Covid-19 vaccination in 17 districts and cities in South Sumatra Province reached 91.19% from its target of 6.3 million people for its first dose.
“Our achievement for our first dose vaccination is already pretty high and we try to maximize it by reaching 100%, while for its second dose that has reached 50%, we try to make it as the same level as the first dose,” said Head of Health Department South Sumatra, Saturday (12/2/22).
People who have not been vaccinated and met the requirements are advised to go to the nearest health center, hospital, or any place that provides vaccines.
Likewise, the people who have been vaccinated with the first dose and have passed the deadline for injecting the second dose of vaccine are advised to immediately visit vaccine centers.
“Through the recent efforts to provide vaccination services with the help of TNI/Polri, we expected that we could reach 100% vaccination, both for the first dose and the second dose, and be realized immediately,” said Kadinkes in her statement.
Previously, the Head of Public Relations of the South Sumatra Police, Commissioner Drs. Supriadi, M.M., stated that his team was trying to maximize the role of the Polsek across 17 regencies and cities to accelerate COVID-19 vaccination services for the general public, the elderly, and children aged 6-11 years.
“Vaccination services need to be supported by implementing acceleration to achieve maximum herd immunity amid the threat of mounting cases of Covid-19 new variant, the Omicron,” he said.
The COVID-19 vaccination service for children or known as the “Vaksinasi Merdeka Anak” and vaccination services for the general public are expected to run well and before the end of this year, the first and second doses of injections can be completed.
These inoculations are expected to give maximum immunity to children to the elderly and achieve herd immunity of Covid-19.
“Kids and people among the vulnerable groups are expected to actively participate in the vaccination program by visiting hospitals, health centers, and other vaccination centers,” he concluded.
