Serang – Approaching Christmas and New Year 2022, the Banten Police will immediately conduct random swab tests at several Nataru security posts in the Banten area. Apart from being random, the Banten Police also conducted a swab test for motorists at the PPKM Post, if the swab test result was negative for Covid-19, the driver could continue his journey. This was conveyed by the Banten Police Chief, Inspector General. Pol. Dr. Rudy Heriyanto Adi Nugroho, S.H., M.H., M.B.A., to the ranks during the routine analysis and evaluation at the Banten Police Video Conference Room on Monday (29/11/21).
“I ordered the ranks to conduct random swab tests at Nataru security posts to motorists passing through the Banten area, especially at ports, terminals, train stations and routes to tourist attractions,” said the Banten Police Chief.
Following up on the order of the Banten Police Chief, the Head of the Banten Police’s Health Department, Kombes Pol. dr. Agung Widodo, Sp.M, has even prepared swab test kits and health workers who will be empowered to carry out swab tests at the Nataru security post and the existing PPKM post.
“Currently we have 5,000 swabt tests and dozens of personnel who are ready to be assigned both at the Nataru security post as well as at the PPKM post to carry out swab tests and we will add the number of swab tests as needed,” explained the Banten Banten Police Dokkes Head, Kombes Pol. dr. The priority of swab tests will be carried out by the Banten Police for people who will leave and enter the Banten area, including those who will travel to several locations in the Banten Police area. This activity is needed to be able to limit people’s mobility, as well as to ensure that people who are active on Christmas and New Year 2022 are free from Covid-19.
As is known, the Banten Police have conducted socialization regarding the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs No. 62 of 2021 regarding the Handling of Covid-19 when Nataru to tourism managers, administrators of places of worship and shopping centers and broadly to the public. In the socialization that was conveyed, the Banten Police Chief had even asked the public to stay at home during Nataru and comply with the PPKM Level III status in all public places while on the move.
“The public must be able to limit their mobility and carry out health protocols with discipline, and understand the provisions in the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs, because all these rules are for our common interest in controlling the Covid-19 pandemic,” concluded the Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police.
