National Police Chief: Map the Potential for Disturbance in Kamtibmas during Nataru

JAKARTA – The National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo asked the team to map out potential security disturbances during the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays. In a vicon with the main official of the Regional Police Chief, Listyo conveyed to the Police Chief about the preparation of security and public order (kamtibmas) in front of Nataru.

“All Kasatker and Kasatwil must start mapping potential vulnerabilities and prepare security plans and anticipatory steps,” said General Listyo Sigit Prabowo in Jakarta, Thursday, November 25, 2021.

The National Police Chief said that the public security situation is still relatively conducive. However, the National Police needs to predict the Kamtibmas calendar at the end of 2021 because there are many activities that have the potential to disrupt safety and security.

According to the National Police Chief, Kamtibmas disturbances can lead to riots if they are not managed properly. Several disturbances that must be anticipated early on include the disbandment of the Papuan Armed Criminal Group (KKB), demonstrations, and acts of terrorism.

In addition, the National Police Chief also asked personnel at all levels to act quickly to reduce natural disasters. The National Police Chief emphasized that the police must come quickly to help victims of natural disasters.

“Implementing disaster management so that if a disaster occurs, all personnel on duty are ready and understand their responsibilities,” said the former Banten Police Chief.

Furthermore, the National Police Chief also asked the troops to immediately set up a command post, prepare evacuation facilities, and deal with puddles in the event of a flood. It is hoped that this collaboration will be carried out with relevant stakeholders.

“To speed up flood handling, evacuation of residents, logistics and distribution, etc.,” said the National Police Chief.
