President Joko Widodo or Jokowi has instructed the eradication of the perpetrators of the land mafia in Indonesia, including the security forces who support them. The police also ensured that law enforcement would not be indiscriminate.

“If there is a land mafia report, just report it, the President’s instructions are clear and the Police will definitely enforce the law. Anyone, once again, the principle of equality before the law, that everyone is equal before the law in force in this country,” said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division. Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono at the National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Thursday (23/9/2021).

Rusdi said that his party would carry out Jokowi’s orders and thoroughly investigate all issues related to the land mafia, in order to provide certainty to the community.

“It’s automatic, when the instructions are heard by the entire Polri, Kasatwil, Kapolda, Kapolres, Kapolsek, they hear everything. And it will be implemented,” said Rusdi.

President Joko Widodo or Jokowi emphasized the government’s commitment to eradicate the land mafia in Indonesia. For this reason, he asked the police not to hesitate in investigating the land mafia.

This was conveyed by Jokowi when submitting the Land Redistribution Certificate for the Object of Agrarian Reform at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Wednesday (22/9/2021).

There are 124,120 land certificates as a result of redistribution in 26 provinces and 127 regencies/cities that were distributed by Jokowi.

“To the ranks of the National Police, I ask that you don’t hesitate to investigate the existing land mafias,” Jokowi explained as broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat Youtube, Wednesday.

In addition, he emphasized the government’s commitment to resolving agrarian conflicts, realizing agrarian reform for the community, and ensuring the availability and certainty of a fair living space for the people. Therefore, he reminded law enforcement officers not to protect the land mafia.

“Don’t let it be, there are law enforcement officers who are backing the land mafia. Fight for the rights of the community and enforce the law firmly,” he said.

Jokowi realizes that agrarian conflicts and land disputes are serious challenges faced by farmers, fishermen, and the community in cultivating land. Thus, the government seeks to provide fair legal certainty through the provision of land certificates.
