JAKARTA – Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) for street vendors and warteg will be disbursed immediately. The TNI and the Police were also involved in the distribution of this social assistance.
Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani explained, the appointment of the TNI and Polri was immediately requested by President Joko Widodo. The reason is that these two institutions can understand the condition of the affected community.
During the pandemic, the TNI and Polri carry out their duties to prevent the spread of the corona virus to the public. So that some places of business were forced to close to reduce community mobility.
“The duties of the TNI and Polri can be understood by the community because we really asked the stalls to close or move, that’s why they were given assistance. That’s what the President said for MSMEs that were distributed to the TNI and Polri,” Sri Mulyani said in a virtual video, Thursday (9/9/2021).
He detailed that the agency would distribute BLT funds to 500,000 program beneficiaries with a budget of Rp 600 billion.
“The TNI and Polri are given the authority to distribute to street vendors as many as 1 million recipients for street vendors and SMEs, so each is 500 thousand (recipients),” he said.
As for the funds of Rp600 billion to be distributed to the community. So that the recipient will receive BLT funds of IDR 1.2 million.
“Rp600 billion for the TNI and Rp600 billion for the police to be distributed to rice stalls or street vendors,” he said.
