The DPR RI Commission III commends the South Sulawesi Police for apprehending two drug dealers in South Sulawesi

The South Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda Sulsel) managed to uncover and arrest two suspected drug dealers. From the results of the arrest, the police confiscated 40 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 4,000 pills of ecstasy at a hotel in Makassar City. Therefore, member of Commission III of the DPR RI, the Golkar Party faction, Andi Rio Idris Padjalangi, appreciated the South Sulawesi Regional Police for their success.

Andi Rio Idris Padjalangi hopes that South Sulawesi (South Sulawesi) will not become a haven for drug dealers.

“I appreciate the South Sulawesi Police for revealing the drug case. Don’t let South Sulawesi become a haven for international network drug dealers. Considering that recently, large-scale drug disclosures have occurred in the province of South Sulawesi, such as in Bone and Makassar cities, it is very concerning,” said Andi Rio, to Tribunnews, Thursday (26/8/2021).

The Golkar politician from the South Sulawesi II constituency hopes that the police can carry out further developments. This is because illegal goods are dangerous and could damage the younger generation in South Sulawesi in the future.

“Authorities must track the drug dealer network to its roots. Besides being dangerous, the effects of drugs can cause death, “explained Andi Rio Idris Padjalangi.

Andi Rio Idris Padjalangi is concerned about the increasing circulation of drugs in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, he asked the police to be more alert and aware of the routes that are prone to drug trafficking.

The police must work together with relevant stakeholders to uncover and arrest drug networks that enter South Sulawesi and the territory of Indonesia.

“Drug circulation is getting higher. This is proof that the threat of drugs is real in South Sulawesi. Various methods are used by drug dealers to trick officers in the field into getting away with bringing illegal goods into Indonesia. The National Police, BNN, Customs and Excise must be synergistic at the door. Goods and services enter both land, sea and air, “said Andi Rio Idris Padjalangi.
