Preparation for PON Papua 2021, the National Police Shifts 600 Personnel to Mimika Police

TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – The Chief of the Sabhara Baharkam of the National Police Inspector General of Police Nanang Avianto said that his party plans to shift 600 personnel to the Timika Police to secure the Papua National Sports Week (PON) which will take place in October 2021.

“In the implementation of the XX 2021 Papua PON later, the Mimika Police will BKO approximately 600 personnel, because of the number of personnel at the Mimika Police,” Nanang said in his statement, Wednesday (11/8/2021).

In the implementation prior to the shift in BKO personnel, Nanang said, his party will carry out the Covid-19 health protocol very strictly because some areas outside Papua are black zones.

“Securing PON XX 2021 Papua must be in accordance with PON security standards, in addition to assistance in implementing PON XX. I want to convey or stretch the task of Sabahara, namely how to strengthen the region related to Almasus so that it needs to be profiled related to conditions and needs in the region,” he said.

In the distribution of special material equipment (Almatsus), his party has divided the area in the Papua Regional Police into three zones, namely coastal areas, swamps and mountains.

“So the hope is in accordance with the needs of the region. Currently, it is just a matter of implementation because it has been approved by the As Ops Polri,” he said.

Furthermore, he added that the implementation of the XX 2021 Papua PON has prepared two scenarios, namely without spectators and with spectators.

On that basis, health protocols must be observed.

“The duties of all Mimika Police personnel must be strict in carrying out the Health Care Project because I see the current task at the Mimika Police Station is quite heavy, in addition to routine duties there are other State duties where the government or the state places high expectations on the Police and the TNI in deciding or suppressing the rate of transmission of Covid -19,” he said.

The program is expected to help prevent and reduce the impact of the spread of the corona virus.
