JAKARTA – PT. Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk recorded a 40 percent decrease in vehicle mobility at the Jabodetabek toll gates during the implementation of the emergency community activity restrictions (PPKM).
This data was revealed by the Korlantas Polri which claimed that the mobility of vehicles to and from Jakarta decreased by 40 percent from 3-17 July 2021.
“This is data from Jasa Marga, I’m not making it up. The data for the decline is almost the same as going into and out of Jakarta, it’s down 40 percent from July 3-17, 2021,” said the Head of the Ops Korlantas Police Commissioner Pol. Rudi Antarriksawan, reported by ANTARA, Monday (19/7/2021).
The total number of vehicles that pass the four Jabodetabek Toll Gates (GT) to Jakarta is 1,267,448 vehicles, down 40.5 percent in the emergency PPKM compared to the new normal period of Covid-19.
The four GTs are GT Cikatama 2, GT Kalitama 2, GT Cikupa, and CT Ciawi.
Meanwhile, the number of vehicles leaving Jakarta was 1,282,371 vehicles or around 39.84 percent.
Rudi said city lanes looked deserted because of the emergency PPKM blocking, including toll lanes, however, suburban lanes were still busy with people’s mobility. For example in Jakarta buffer areas such as Ciputat and Depok.
“Right now, what needs attention is the outskirt lanes in the sub-district, urban village, RT, and RW neighborhoods which are still crowded,” said Rudi.
According to him, this is because people are not aware of the emergency PPKM rules which only allow essential, critical, and exception sectors to travel.
The police conducted blocking at 659 points from Java to Bali covering toll roads, non-toll roads, to ports during Emergency PPKM.
The number of partitions has been increased to 1,038 locations spread across Lampung, Java and Bali, ahead of Eid al-Adha 1442 H which will take place on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.
“The blockage started from Lampung to Bali. The blocking was carried out near Eid al-Adha starting on July 16, we have carried out the insulation starting from KM 31 West Cikarang, we block people leaving Jabodetabek strictly,” said Rudi.
Rudi added, to anticipate queues, the blocking is done by separating lanes for critical, essential, and non-essential vehicles.
