Police: Volume of Vehicles In and Out of Jakarta via Toll Roads Down to 40 Percent

VIVA – The Traffic Police Corps claims that the volume of vehicles entering the capital through toll roads has decreased significantly. The police increased the blocking points for community mobility to 1,038 from Lampung to Bali ahead of Eid al-Adha.

“From July 3-16 before that there were 1,900,000, then evaluated for from 6-16 this was only 1,100,000. On average, it experienced almost a 40 percent decrease,” said the Head of the Operations Section of the Traffic Corps of the Police, Commissioner Sr. Police Rudy Antariksawan told reporters Sunday, July 18, 2021.

He said the volume of vehicles leaving Jakarta via toll roads also decreased by 40 percent. Rudy said that his party continues to monitor the movement of vehicles on the toll road and requests data for entering and exiting vehicles from PT Jasa Marga.

“We are also monitoring the air patrol with the Kabaharkam (Komjen Pol Arief Sulistyanto) on Saturday afternoon and actually this toll road has decreased,” he said.

Furthermore, he said, many toll roads are now traversed by logistics vehicles. He hopes that the decline in vehicle volume will continue before and after Eid al-Adha.

He added that there was still a lot of community mobility on arterial roads. For this reason, his party invites the community, community leaders, neighborhood associations (RT), community units (RW), communities to reduce mobility during the implementation of emergency community activity restrictions (PPKM). “We hope that all mobility will go down. So that COVID-19 can really go down,” he said.
