Ahead of Eid al-Adha, Police Create 1,038 Blocking Points in Java-Lampung

Jakarta, Gatra.com – The Korlantas Polri has officially imposed a barrier ahead of the celebration of Eid al-Adha 1442 H which falls on July 20, 2021. The blocking will be carried out starting Friday (16/7) on toll roads leading out of Jakarta and in Bali to Lampung.

“So starting at 00.00 on July 16, we will start blocking the toll road at kilometer 31 Cikarang,” said the Head of the Operations Section of the National Police Korlantas, Kombes Pol Rudi Antariksa at KM 31 of the Cikarang toll road, West Java, Friday (16/7).

This closure is in place to reduce the spread of Covid-19. In addition, Rudi explained, his party had predicted that there would be a surge in community mobility during the holiday.

Rudi added that since July 3, 2021, his party had indeed carried out Emergency PPKM. However, Rudi said, there are two sectors that are excluded in this case.

“We all know that this is the situation in Emergency PPKM starting on 3 [July], so community mobility cannot be carried out except in two sectors, critical and essential,” he said.

Rudi appealed to people who do not have travel requirements to cancel their intention to travel, because motorists are not allowed to continue their journey.

“If the traveler is unable to show travel events such as rapid antigen test or PCR and the sign has been vaccine or vaccine certificate and also STRP, we will return the person concerned,” he said.

Rudi ensured that his party would continue to regulate the flow of traffic so as not to hinder the two sectors that were still running.

It is known, ahead of Eid al-Adha 1442 H/2021 AD, the National Police will conduct isolation of 1,038 points, namely in Lampung, Java and Bali. The blocking point will take place from 16-22 July 2021, consisting of toll roads, non-toll roads, and ports.

This is done to suppress the movement of people during the implementation of restrictions on community activities or Emergency PPKM.
