TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Social Minister Tri Rismaharini or Risma ensured that each recipient of the Cash Social Assistance (BST) and Family Hope Program (PKH) will receive an additional 10 kilograms of rice. This social assistance will be distributed by the TNI and Polri.
“We will hand over 1,500 packages to TNI/Polri posts for 100 regencies and cities,” Risma said after attending a meeting with the Emergency PPKM Coordinator Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, as quoted from the official website of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs, Friday, July 9, 2021.
This social assistance program is part of the Java-Bali Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) which will be implemented from 3-20 July 2021. In total, there are 122 districts/cities currently required to implement Emergency PPKM.
During Emergency PPKM, there are three types of social assistance distributed to the community. Namely, Rp. 13.96 trillion for 10 million families who entered the Family Hope Program (PKH), then Rp. 45.12 trillion for 18.8 million residents who received Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT)/Sembako Cards, and Rp. 6.1 trillion for 10 million. recipients of Cash Social Assistance (BST).
During this Emergency PPKM, people who enter the Family Hope Program will receive assistance in July. In addition, the government also increased the number of recipients of Non-Cash Food Assistance to 18.8 million heads out. The amount is still IDR 200 thousand per month for each recipient.
Meanwhile, 10 million families who receive social assistance will receive Rp 300 thousand per month. Assistance during May and June will be paid in lump sum in July.
The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, emphasized to the Regional Military Commander and Regional Police to ensure that no people in their respective areas do not have food.
“I want to make sure that there are people who can’t eat. I ask you to do patrols, check where there are residents who can’t eat, come immediately, help,” said the Emergency PPKM coordinator regarding the distribution of social assistance.
