When contacted on Monday, July 5, 2021, Sambodo said: “There are still many residents who do not have a clear interest in moving to Jakarta, so the city’s quarantine point has a long traffic jam. did not stop there, and many residents did not listen to the police when they were asked to turn around. They will insist on passing through for various reasons. There are reasons for work, people who visit their families, etc., even if they are not included in key and necessary departments.”

Sambodo said that Polda Metro Jaya will be stricter in this regard. The police will not provide as many exceptions to the community as the divisions above. “We apply stricter barriers to show that this emergency PPKM is different from the previous few days,” he said.

The implementation of emergency PPKM on the third day caused congestion in Jalan Kramat Raya, Senen, Central Jakarta and Jalan Gatot Subroto, Semanggi, South Jakarta.

Due to the police blockade, people cannot cross the streets where they work, causing traffic jams. Observed by Tempo at Jalan Gatot Subroto leading to Semanggi, congestion began to appear near the Kuningan 1 toll gate or after the Kuningan overpass.

Congestion spread to the front of the DPR RI building. A similar traffic jam occurred at Jalan Kramat Raya to Senen. Vehicles meander from the Matraman intersection to the opposite side of the Acacia Hotel.

This is because people have to turn the vehicle around, which creates isolation. The congestion caused by this sub-zone also occurred at the announcement monument near Pramuka Street to Penataran Street. There are even traffic jams in the southern suburbs of Jakarta, such as Jalan Lenteng Agung from Depok to Jakarta.

The emergency PPKM decision will start on Saturday July 3, 2021. Metro Jaya Police Department Inspector General Mohammad Fadil Imran explained that for financial and banking companies, there may be only 50% in office or WFO.
