Central Sulawesi Regional Police – The Central Sulawesi Police Mobile Brigade Unit deployed a SAR team to participate in a joint search and rescue team with the Palu Search and Relief SAR Office, Parigi SAR Post and the Indonesian National Police. This team carried out an operation to find victims buried by landslides at a gold mining site without a permit in Buranga Village, Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi.
According to Information from Basarnas Palu, February 25, 2021, as many as 26 victims in a landslide incident that occurred at the mine site without a permit in Buranga Village, Ampibabo District, reported 15 survivors, three people were injured, and three were declared dead and five other people were still in the search process.
“We together with related agencies carry out searches as well as evacuation of landslide resistant victims in Buranga Village, Kec. Ampibabo, Kab. Touna. 3 victims were successfully evacuated while they were dead, ”said Iptu Krisno H. Songko, who was present leading the Mobile Brigade team.
Apart from using heavy equipment, the search also used manual tools such as hoes and shovels and was also assisted by local community members.
